Why The Affordable Care Act is Largely Unaffordable...

The ObamaCare mandate's primary impact will be to compel low-income households to buy bronze coverage with deductibles of up to $6,850 per adult that are well beyond their capacity to afford.

Because any semi-serious health issue will torpedo their finances long before ObamaCare begins to pay the bills, this situation raises a question of whether it is ethical to threaten them with a mandate penalty.

In addition, after two years of ObamaCare enrollment, it now appears likely that this contradiction — the Affordable Care Act mandating unaffordable care — will be the rule, not the exception, for modest-income households between 150% and 250% of the poverty level.

Obamacare's Tsunami of Tax Hikes

Obamacare imposes numerous tax hikes which total more than $500 billion over 10 years.

Obamacare's higher tax rates on income and investment will slow economic growth, leaving hardworking American families and businesses worse off.

A particularly harmful new payroll tax on investment income went into effect in January 2013.

ObamaCare Promises Broken Already...

The average employer-provided family health insurance premiums have climbed +$2,976 since 2009, according to an annual Kaiser Family Foundation survey.

They're up +$3,671 compared with the year before President Obama took office.

That's despite President Obama's repeated promises that the health care reform law he championed would CUT premiums by                    -$2,500 in his first term.

The President's plan has failed miserably to merely stabilize health care costs, let alone reduce them!

Dishonest or Incompetent?

The Primary Retirement Concerns for Seniors...

A retirement planning survey by the Illinois-based Society of Actuaries finds the main retirement concerns seniors have are...

     1)
Keeping the value of investments up with inflation

     2) The effect of interest rates on income

     3) The affordability of health care and long-term care

     4) Outliving assets

     5) Maintaining a reasonable standard of living

Other findings include...

80%
— Percentage of those who do NOT look ahead more than 20 years when making important financial decisions
, and only 5% look to or beyond their life expectancy.

68% — Percentage of retirees who have created a plan to manage their money each year to avoid outliving their finances.

73%
— Percentage of retirees who have considered allocating their investments and savings to different types of assets.
Just 24% of retirees, however, have purchased or plan to buy any guaranteed income products.
